Pollitt, Donna, E. (Lapham), died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Pollitt.  Born in Providence a daughter of the late Elbridge J. “Red” and Helen J. (Gardner) Lapham she had been a resident of Warwick for most of her life.  Donna was employed as an office manager and bookkeeper at National Velour in Warwick for 19 years.  She was a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ionia Chapter 17, the Oakland Beach Volunteer Fire Co. Women’s Auxiliary and a treasurer of the Bible Study Fellowship.  She leaves her son, Dr. Robert J. Pollitt and his wife, Kristin,of Holden, MA and her daughter, Kimberly L. Sturdahl and her husband, CSM. Robert A. of Coventry; grandmother of Robert A., Jr. and Ryan J. Sturdahl, Hannah L. and James R. Pollitt.  She was the sister of Brenda Lapham, Robin M. Estey, Frances Loppi, David Lapham, Laura L. Buccini, Veronica L. Ursillo, Tina L. Furtado and the late Dorothy A. Maguire and Dawn D. Leonard.  She was also a loving sister-in-law, aunt and great aunt.

 

Her funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave.   Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.  Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Make A Wish or Home & Hospice Care of RI.
